Chamomile and oregano herbal tea

I realized I’ve talked about “my” chamomile&oregano herbal tea on this blog a couple of times.
Warning to any man reading, it’s menstrual stuff, you may not read this. If you want to go further it’s up to you.

It’s the herbal tea I drink when I have my menstrual cycle, to fight cramps, the original recipe comes from a schoolmate back in highschool (so much time gone by!).
Her recipe said:

  • one cup of hot water
  • one bag chamomile
  • one teaspoon oregano
  • mint if you like
  • let infuse for 3 to 5 minutes
  • add honey to sweeten

I now make it with just chamomile and oregano, these are the ingredients that matter, the rest is to make it taste better (but I’ve got used to it and I like the quirky taste).
Side effect: oregano helps digestion. Badly!

The first time I’ve tried this herbal tea I was a little skeptic, I used to pop ibuprofen like it was candies, but I was more than willing to try something natural (always’ been a hippie). And ehi, lookie, it works!

And I can make a batch of it and bottle it and carry it to school and drink it all day like a camel and have no more cramps at all.
Sometimes all it takes is a cup when the first cramps start and I can spend the rest of my cycle quiet.

Menstruations, your time has come!

If you try this out let me know how it goes, and if you have other miraculous recipes tell me, I’ll try them!!!

PS
According to Internet, if you really want to know why this works, chamomile relaxes your muscles while oregano stops cramps and pain, yay!
