On why I’ve unsubscribed

Some time (we’re talking months) ago I unsubscribed to some newsletter I had and I deleted a ton of old emails I still had. This is to say that e-cleaning is no news to me, and it’s always satisfying.
Despite the fact that lately I had some kind of “social fever” (the last drop that made me fall for FB was nostalgy for people I met during my erasmus, they’re as far as a click now, otherwise, before, I had to chase emails and such… this is a reason that added up to my brother’s “give up, with your studies you’ll need it for work” and to “it may be useful for my blog”) and it ended up with me having plenty of subscription I didn’t know what to do with.

What’s the point in promoting yourself through channels you’re not using?
It’s obviously better, to me at least, to use just a couple, but to really use them. That’s why, if you’ve noticed, I’m left with FB and the blue birdie.

Also because, after trying Networked Blogs and seeing it’s a follower-machine (90% of the posts you could see were titled “I need followers, I’ll follow back” and variations) I realized I really am not interested in having tons and tons of subscribers… hear me, if it happens, I’m more than happy! But I want that those who decide to follow me do it because they are interested in reading what I write, because they like what they find here. And not just to “follow back”,so long and goodbye…

I’d rather have four but loving readers.

Followers ain’t numbers, they’re people 😉

Amen to that! :) That's my philosophy with all of 'em – I know some people get upset when they lose followers/subscribers/etc. but, as much as I'm extraordinarily grateful towards anyone who stops by, I always think ''hey, if they unfollow/unsubscribe/whatever, they weren't really interested in me in the first place, and that's fine!'' You can't please everyone ;D

That's so true, we must never forget that (most of all if we submit ourselves to other people's opinions): we can't please everyone…
    so let's please ourselves first!!!
